Land is money you can stand on,
Take a shovel to and turn over,
Put a house on and multiply
As the good Lord has ordered.

Food you toil to raise ain’t fattening
Don’t care how much lard you use.
If you blanch, then freeze; boil, then can
Your storehouse will always be full.

Sew your own clothes, you know they fit.
Make your children quilts, you warm them twice.
Stay close to this land, you’ll always prosper.
Even if cityfolk too blind to see.
